You should consider a drive with support for RAID levels 1, 5, or 10 if you're storing really important data that you can't afford to lose. All of the drives I use are 7200 rpm, and it's unlikely anyone would recommend a slower drive. If possible, use the same model of drive as well. But I still have a few questions… I am using a MacBook Pro for light video editing.
