I don't know if the fact the OS language wasn't American/English has to do with this the fact all listed tries didn't solve the problem... We’re also going to add the extra step of booting into Safe Mode first, just to make sure that Windows can really let go of that cache of Windows Update downloads. Do you know of any way to get a list of all these and have them pre-downloaded and maybe on another drive somewhere to that I can more quickly reload with Rich. Bingo. I also checked that the Background Intelligent Transfer service had started, it hadn't so started that (I'd previously read that this service not starting could cause update problems).
