The cursor could move around, but nothing else (i.e. Tomorrow, when everything goes fine, i should get the vista disk and win 7 disk, so when everything goes fine, i can do the backup and put win 7 on it. The laptop is a HP Pavillion Dv9000 by the way. Norton is a resource HOG!!! a recent hardware or software change might be the cause. but the funny thing is that my Vista logo is not even there when it should be so its just a loading bar. In my experience thus far this problem has been linked to about 2 major and 2 minor causes.The major causes in my experience have been driver incomaptability and BIOS/CMOS issues. I have NO idea what is wrong with the laptop & now I'm going crazy !
